The theme Biobanks & Collections is organized by Health-RI in collaboration with health care and research institutions in the Netherlands.
Vision
Large quantities of health data, biomaterials, and images from patients and the general population are being collected. At the same time, the current landscape of biobanks and collections is fragmented, and these resources are underutilized because they are not accessible or discoverable, and data is processed and stored in different standards and formats.
Mission
The Biobanks & Collections theme facilitates the harmonized collection, management, and availability of health data, biomaterials, and images originating from a wide range of registries, cohorts, data banks, and biobanks. ctions within Health-RI facilitates the collection and/or sharing of biomaterials, images, and associated data for research and innovation.

At Health-RI Biobanks & Collections, each region is represented with a Biobanks & Collections coordinator as well as IT/Data platform coordinator.
